I feel I have to put my 2cents in about the "Prostar." This truck IS a moneypit. We have had one now for 5mos with JCT and have put in $8000.00 so far into it. We have had to replace the whole DPF system; which is not unusuall according to International dealerships. Also the truck can't keep an axle alignment; especially the front. We've replaced the starter, two steer tires, four drive tires, and numerous air leaks that no one can seem to find. That's not counting normal maintenance. It is getting a little stressfull for us. We have only been here 5 mos and are already that far upside down in our maintenance account. The truck rides nice, is quiet, and looks nice. I just no longer trust it. I hope to get into a new cascadia in april or may when we get more in. If I wasn't spending so much time in the shop; we would be making good money. I like working here and hope our luck turns for the better.

how much of these problems are covered by warranty? What year is it? Sounds like a lemon, are you or JCT fighting the dealer on this?

I've noticed Prostars have a lot of issues since production moved south of the border. Our 2008 doesn't have nearly the issues that the new ones have.

I am sitting at the KW dealer waiting to get in to the shop. The DPF system is bad. This is a 2009 T660, and I picked it because of the suppsed fuel milage. What a joke, 5.3mpg is the best I can get. I had a T600 before I came to JCT,and got 6.7 at any speed, and weight. Well thats what I get for pickin out a truck because it's pretty

We had a 2010 prostar and we also put about 8000.00 in our truck and that wasn't buying any tires either. Finaly broke us. We would run a week be down a week and when the shop tells you that they fix the truck and you get out in the middle of no where and cost you $900.00 just for the tow bill, thats when we called it quits. If they would get some machanics in their shop that knew how to work on trucks, they would may be an ok company. We got plenty of miles as long as we could stay out of their shop. We were told by many of the long time drivers to stay away from their shop, but when we tried to take our truck to another shop they would give us a hard time about it and take a week to make a determination if they were going to approve the other shop to do the work. They would end up letting them do the warrenty work and then want us to bring it back to JCT shop for the non warrenty work.

Did you ask JCT for a different truck? If so, what did they say?
