I am in my final week of school at the Federal Way TDA. I test out on Friday.

Not a bad place to go. Instructors are pretty good, very knowledgeable. Hell, they got me double clutching and downshifting in record time. Didn't think I had the coordination to do that. LOL

Anyways, let me know if you have any questions, I'll try to answer them. Hope to be in Utah by Monday.

Volvo with Volvo engine, which everyone say sucks but its not that bad. Plus I"m over 6'6" so there a good amount of room for me to drive ... definitively a lot more comfortable to drive than the w9 my trainer had.

When i went through in January, they had just switched it to 4 weeks from 3. This is nothing new or a typo. The extra week was nice, especially with all the politics (from the owner) that went on with that school while I was there. Pay attention to what Bill and Monte say and you guys will do fine. We started out with 4 guys, but only two of us went to Fontana.

never a dull moment with my loads! Just when I thought Central would send me to some dumb places... today had to be the worst. my 99 today was in an office park! Has NO dock. The width of the street is about 16 feet. Here is the thing.. You go in during business hours 8-6 to deliver, you dont come out until there is VERY little traffic. No room to turn around. If anyone wants to see it, look at the satellite pictures on google maps.... 322 Nancy Lynn Ln, Knoxville, TN. A 53 foot trailer has NO business in that place. Ill post an xtranormal movie of the conversation my DM, I and customer service had on Youtube.... unbelievable.

i just finished Centrals school n will graduate wednesday with flyin colors.. already have a trainer n will b leavin out 4 my OTR trainin wednesday also. i recommend this school 2 anyone wantin 2 consider drivin. :biggrin_25525: we had lots of guys from other schools goin here too. cr england next door has guys droppin out n tryin to come to central.. go figure!! roadmaster, swift r 2 more that i can think of right off hand. its an excellerated 2 week course n its only $1200.00 compared to min $3000.00 everywhere else. i think its a good deal n u get a job!! we get paid for the last 3 days of the program which is ur orientation n they feed u those days too.. paid OTR trainin then u come back n upgrade to ur own truck n start as a co.driver.. pretty sweet deal in my opinion.:biggrin_255: the OTR pay after taxes is more than i was makin at my last job workin in a warehouse through a temp service 4 the last 13 months. centrals school teaches u the basic skills 2 get ur CDLs then train u 4 5 weeks n the rest is up 2 u to either succeed or fail. its a no brainer in my opinion!!

i seen a skirted trailer on a MOZILLA VALLEY truck a while back and some one had gone down the side of the skirt with some pink spray paint and made it look like frilly girlie stuff was actually pretty artistic. but i sure would not have wanted to haul it with that on there.:biggrin_2559:

Today was math genius day... nearest scale to my 01 was 40 miles away.. got there and I was 80 friggin pounds over gross with a 1/2 tank of fuel.. I even had to slide my 5th wheel to make the load close to right. I can 68 miles an not hit an open scale.. made it to my first fuel stop and sending a mac 52 telling them was close to gross. New fuel routing with-in minutes.. bonus I got an extra shower....

Scales all closed till I hit VA.. pre-pass beeps red.... rut-rho.. in I go... you may go arrow turns red. Double rut-rho.. stop on scale.. voice over speaker... "Don't fuel up till you are out of VA, have agood day.. " bypassed next fuel stop... by my calculations I am about 150 pounds under gross right now with fuel gauge # 3/8th. I have enough to get to my next fuel stop. Life is fun sometimes... now if I can just fine a truck full of bagels that is over weight.. we could have lots of cream cheese and bagels. :biggrin_2559:
