I would not want to do any lease purchase program. I don't think any of them are worth it. I have looked at CRST Malone's program. It has been some time ago. As far as LP programs, it looked like it was better than some I have seen. I spoke with one LP driver a few months ago. He told me that he only cleared about $300/week after everything was paid. He leased his truck and trailer from CRST Malone. Granted, freight was slow at the time, but that isn't much money.

I wouldn't do it, even if I was interested in LP. Let me look over the packet again, and I'll pick the details apart for you.

I got some information on it, but I left it in Co. Springs. So, without having that available, the reasons off the top of my head why I wouldn't are:

The .08/mile which goes into the maintenance account... refundable to you if you own a truck and lease on, but apparently not if you're leasing one?

Used trucks from entry level carriers, which you have no say in which one you get.

Agents shops report a lot of difficulty accessing the maintenance account funds with lease operators, which makes a lot of them less than eager to do work on LP trucks.

From what I've seen, the quality of CRST Malone trailers tends to be a bit of a crapshoot, and are limited to 48' flats. As is, I can pull flats, steps, or a manual detach RGN.

Forced dispatch. Sorry, but I'm not playing that game, least of all on a truck I'm paying for. I'm not prone to turning down loads, but if I do, you can rest assured I have a #### good reason for it, and I'm not having some desk jockey tell me that I don't, and I'll take that load or else.

I'll need to review that information I received again, but I have a few personal reasons, as well.

I could buy a 96 WIA64 with 220k on a rebuilt 3406E right now at a very good price if I wished to. Why this would appeal to me over the LP trucks - it's a one owner/one operator truck, being sold by a guy I know and I know how he drives and maintains that truck. It's not a fleet truck I don't know the history of, and I know it's a solid truck.

My return to OTR is not going to be a long term thing - as I've said before, I'm a sitework driver, not a road driver - I'm just running OTR as a means to an end.

If I were to pay for a truck, I expect to be able to lease it on with whoever I #### well please, and not be bound to one company.

I have two former Maverick drivers/friends and they are doing very well with it. Only complaint is the trailers.

I just leased my truck on with Coretrans out of Somerset, KY and love it. I'm averaging $1.50 a mile 3000 + miles a week and home every weekend. Call their recruiter if you want a job and tell them "trucker man" referred you so I get the bonus!! 1-800-422-4799

Didn't you make another post where you claimed that you were making $1.65/mile?
