Google +1 Button

I think the privacy concerns are only a small part of it. I took another look at the site stats, and the majority of our users are visiting on out-of-date browsers that don't display the button. Additionally, I overestimated how many users have Google accounts. With hindsight, I can see that my original expectations weren't based in reality, so the goal of 1000 +1's in a week was simply unrealistic.

We'll keep the button active, but place it somewhere less intrusive next week. The number of internet users who are signing up for Google accounts and updating to current browsers are increasing by thousands every day, so I think we'll continue to make steady progress towards our goal.

I've really appreciated the PMs and posts from people that have gone out of their way to set-up Google accounts or update their browsers just to push that funny button. Thank you!

 

Try clicking it from a different internet browser than the one that sammycat used to click it.

 

Cookies and history aren't shared between browsers (unless you do an import), so that shouldn't be necessary.
