hey rob, did you ever get a new truck? Seems like you should have been pretty high up on the list. Just curious - saw you were having tranny problems.

Nope. Apparently I am pretty low on the pecking order. My truck is a 2006 and they are replacing the 2007's.

I just got back into my truck on Thursday. They dropped another transmission in it from one of the trucks they switched out for new ones. They also switched out the ECM probably from the same truck to correct a check engine light fault that would come on every time I used the jakes. My mileage on the truck went from 660K to 790K with the ecm change. I intend to have a talk with Mac when I get back as I am not a happy camper at the moment.

After unloading in Cottonton Alabama around noon Friday I was tankwashed to Atlanta and given a load out of Winder that loads at 22:00 tonight and delivers at 8 AM Sunday morning in Greensboro. 8 hours of layover pay is alright but driving all night for 291 paid miles pretty much sucks. Plus if things don't go well loading or unloading I could end up 17 miles from my home terminal out of hours on my 14 at 11:30 AM Sunday.

So far I have been into Stepan over at Winder twice and they have both times had some ridiculous loading and unloading appointments.

I have never had any problems on the Stepan end of the load, but the appt times are crazy.

    Good luck.

    11/13-11/15

Got loaded at Winder Sat night and made it to the High Point Terminal around 4 AM. Got a 3 hour nap in before heading over to Greensboro for my delivery appointment at Kay Chemical. Fortunately they backed me me right into the bay and I got back to the yard with 30 minutes to spare on my 14.

Monday I was off except for renewing my DOT physical at company expense.

Today I loaded Latex in Haw River NC with a load that delivers Thursday in Zumbrota Mn. Decent miles for a change but I will probably pay a visit to Markham Thursday.

Did a short out and back down to Mebane NC. Had another driver with me that was transfering to KPT from Aurora NC. He had driven his personal vehicle up to KPT so I took him down to the Aurora yard. Man that place is out in the middle of nowhere.

I am on the board to go back out today but no call yet so I doubt I will. But I just finished repainting two rooms and installing 350 square feet of laminate flooring and just have the trim work left to finish it up. Gotta get it done before the Thanksgiving crowd shows up.

    Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Had an enjoyable ride up to Zumbrota Mn and got unloaded in under 2 hours. Had one guy drumming off the load into totes but he had a good system down with very little dead time.

Tankwash message came in for Dedicated in Lansing Il for 8 AM Friday morning. I had plenty of hours to drive Thurs so I boogied on down there and still had about an hour to spare after hitting the I90-I294 junction right at 5:00 local time. Picked up an hour of traffic back up pay that way.

I am sitting at the Gary In Loves avoiding Markham. They have me picking up a trailer there at 14:30 Saturday and live loading at Rhodia in Blue Island Il Saturday afternoon for a Monday morning delivery at Brown Summit NC. Running on down to the tank wash last night set me up for another 8 hours of layover pay that I wouldn't have gotten had I stopped earlier avoiding the rush hour. I will get 16 hours for this round of sitting. Not a bad week.

The sitting pay is a nice gesture, but it's chicken feed compared to driving. I think Blue Island, Rhodia is the one where you drive through a trailer park to get to it. Pickens are getting Slimmer each week.

I was there several weeks ago. An O/O was still sitting after 26 hours because of some screw up. They got me in and out pretty well. Won't matter tomorrow. I will have a full 14.

I hear you about the slim pickings. Seems like it takes 7 days to make the same money we could make in 5 running steady a few months ago.

    Puddin,

Yep, have talked to him several times. He seems real happy. I gotta admit, it's looking pretty tempting:rolleyes:.
