Please trust me when I say that I am not here to bicker with anybody. I was attacked out of left field, and I was only defending myself.:biggrin_25514:

Finally made it to Cheyenne and am waiting to unload. I was hoping to get out of here before the snow starts falling, but according to the forecast it doesn't matter where I go...it's going to snow. On hold with ops hoping that I can get a pallet load down to Garden City...that way I can at least be waiting on a load while the blizzard is going on.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
Just like the ones in the ol' meat patch,
    Where the bobtails are sittin'
    and drivers are #####in,
    about dispatch answering the phone....

    OK, next verse?

Just like the ones n the ol' petro,
Where the piss bottles are flyin'
And the Stevens drivers are whinin'
About CRST trucks taking off their nose..

I'm not good with rhymes so.....

I got unloaded at Wal Mart, and got the "Please head towards Lincoln, NE" qualcomm message. I immediately called dispatch and talked to Randy. He immediately got defensive as I was trying to explain my situation. He told me that they didn't care about my situation and that they were just trying to do their job of moving freight. He told me that I needed to get the load and then work with my DM to get a repower. I tried to explain to him that I would not gamble my entire Christmas plan on the hope of a Dallas bound repower. He then told me to just refuse the load and then he hung up on me.

Shortly thereafter, I received a call from the planner. She had no idea about what I was trying to do, and was completely pissed off at my DM for not giving her a heads up to my situation. I told her that I wasn't refusing a load by any means. I'll do anything I can as long as I can get back to the yard by Fri am at the latest. She told me to hang out in Cheyenne until the am so we can get this all figured out when my DM comes in.

    Here I hang.

What up all STeven Transports drivers!! I'm looking to get into the Stevens schooling someday. I just a have a few problems that maybe you guys may help me with. What are the chances of getting into the school if right now I only have a work permit? I haven't had my full drivers license for about 4 years now. My driving record wasn't very good so I got it suspended for awhile. I have one OWI which was back in March of 2007. Is there anyway I'm gonna b eable to get accepted into the schooling now even with work permit or when I get my license back in Novemeber of 2012? And if Stevens dont accept me are there any other trucking companies that may be more lenient on that issue? All help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Sorry to tell you this but you have no chance of getting into the trucking industry. Hate to be blunt but thats the truth.

I believe the DWI is going to be the killer...not just with Steven's, but with any company. Call them up. It never hurts to ask.

    #### it!! Was affraid I wouldnt' be able to but still going to try. The OWI was 5 years ago this March. Haven't had any tickets since then or accidents. Even tho i dont drive much with a work permit but still. I've been told my OWI will be ok since its been so long ago. I've been looking up info on trucking companies and seen a lot of them that have for qualifications no OWI, DUI, DWI whatever u wanna call it for 5 years. So maybe after March I'll be good, well I hope anyway! Would love to become a otr driver one day. Thank you guys for your responses even if it wasn't what i wanted to hear..lol
