willing to work? um, I stay out a min 6-8 weeks, I scream for loads and miles, yet last company I was at as a company driver, 1700 miles a wk if I was lucky, and I was screaming at them for miles. If you take a look now, these companies all rolled their starting pay way back, now 3yrs exp starts you out .30cpm if your lucky. they also started buying new trucks, keeping the current ones as well. They have started hiring newbies at .26-.28cpm. They are cutting drivers with any experiance now, basically starving them out, hiring newbies in and pocketing the money as well. also, for every newbie with no experiance they hire, good old washington D.C. gives them $5000. so start doing the math. also, with 3mths per Quarter, 4 weeks a month, that 12 weeks. 39,000 miles per quarter divided by 12 weeks equals 3250 miles a week. only drivers getting those miles right now are newbies because at .28cpm that equals $910 vs $1170 to a driver at .36cpm. thats a total of $260 to the comapany now. now times that say by 500 drivers at $.36cpm, thats a $130,000 a wk back to the company, over a quarter thats $1,560,000 back in company hands, and for the year thats $6,240,000 back to the company. But yet they can't afford raisies or proper repairs on trucks and trailers. and I based that on a company with 1000 drivers with 500 making no less then .36 cpm.

As a current driver, I have to agree and disagree with certain points. 1. IF you are sitting then you either pissed off the wring person, or declined a load. I have been here 2 1/2 yrs, and have rarely sat over 18 hrs. And even then I kept in contact with the dispatch team. 2. There are certain people in the safety dept that would better serve as a hood ornament... But I deal with them on an individual basis. 3. The wheel covers, trailer skirts, and trailer tails are all designed to promote fuel economy. That is what MVT has as a benefit. National best MPG average. Heck, you need to get 7.5 MPG or better to hold a job there. But, I digress. 4. You do not... I'll repeat that NOT have to speak a lick of Spanish to get by. News Flash. The owner, and his son... ARE WHITE!!! 4. The bonuses are attainable, but you gotta stay running, and keep that left door closed. 5. I am soon going to be going to a different company, as I feel I have more potential than what is being offered here. P.S. Any and all new drivers coming into MVT will have to use e-logs. Apparently, DOT came down and dropped the hammer. SO, MVT is implementing this B.S. system. I believe NOW, those "Bonus" programs will be a pipe dream. But we'll see how long Daddy Royal will take losing money and customers before he pitches THAT out the window. -Drive Safe everyone. We'll see ya on the big road.

My boy friend is more then 10 year Veteran, Whom is currently ranked #79 in fuel conservation out of thousands of drivers, he was winner of one of thier fuel bonus Harley Davidson, picked to be in the company calender, and Was asked to go and do a national commercial for the company, and has had several monatary bonuses for preformance and fuel.
All would be great you would think! Wrong last week he pulls in tc the Tennessee yard and was sent for a random urinalisis and some how he tested positive for THC This is LUDICRIS !!!! The man at the testing center said it was a very slight amount .05 nanograms . Well my boyfriend was shocked as was I . He was put out of d the truck 48 miles outside of Boston, in the rain and was unable to get a taxi to Boston for hours and was force to leave behind all but 2 bags on the truck, achecknd was reassured the new driver would carry it to the El Paso yard. Well 103.00 is what it cost to get to Boston for the bus. Well one of the few decent people their got him a bus ticket home ( Thanks J.L.) remains to be seen on if this will be taken out of his check.
Nice to know they care enough to boot you out in the rain in BFE,even when he denied there was no way. Well so you know Thc is found in some foods and salads are famous for having natural THC levels, Wow cant believe Royal was so HEARTLESS or does he know or care???We are going to fight this because he was not abusing any drugs! He has NEVER tested dirty before. You are losing a good empoyee and trying to ruin him in the process. HEARTLESS THROUGH AND THROUGH !!! Nothing is 100% accurate!!!!!!

HAHAHAHA YES, I heard that our state government gave MVT millions in grant money. What a bunch of idiots that we have running our state. I just submitted an employment application to work for them. After reading this thread, I'm going to tell them NO WAY in HELL will I even consider working for your company.

    Aloha, Stingray

Another note for you folks; I'm heavily involved in sprint car racing, and several top cars have Mesilla Valley as associate sponsors. Last season there were upwards of 20 cars that had Mesilla Valley on wings or body panels somewhere. That's alot of money folks.

Most companies will kick you off the truck when you smoke pot in their ride... nothing rude there...Next time tell the boyfriend not to pee in the bottle when he's dirty...

Sounds like the business model of a typical OTR company,

It wouldn't surprise me, if I found out some of that grant money MVT got from Oregon is being spent on racing.

Well, if they get caught doing that, it will likely put them out of business and those responsible in jail. . .
