I wil put load bars or straps on if the notes require them or i feel the load requires them. Does not happen often. If the trailer is not sealed when I pick it up I am responsible if the load shifts. I would not get a ticket in a dry van for a shrink wrapped palletized load. No way.

When i am hauling double stacked pallets I will always secure if doors are unsealed when i get it

    vinsanity Thanks this.

No, as a flatbedder you would not know anything about dry van load securement. Nobody is questioning your motives AT, just do not think you are correct.

fmcsa 393.100 (in the little green book)

    (b) Prevention against loss of load. Each commercial motor vehicle must, when transporting cargo on public roads, be loaded and equipped, and the cargo secured, in accordance with this subpart to prevent the cargo from leaking, spilling, blowing or falling from the motor vehicle. that would be covered by the load being INSIDE a 53" box

    (c) Prevention against shifting of load. Cargo must be contained, as in the INSIDE of a 53" box immobilized or secured in accordance with this subpart to prevent shifting upon or within the vehicle to such an extent that the vehicle's stability or maneuverability is adversely affected.
