Oh ok... The oldest trucks we have are 2006 models but by the end of the year they are all supposed to be gone along with the 2007 models. Next year we should only have 08 cascadias and 2010+ KW Millis has a 3 yr turn over on trucks. In 08 and 09 they sent all their KWs back because the motors didn't hold up.
As far as I know, the only new freighliners they will be buying will be for regional and that's only because they aren't buying anymore T-660s. The regional T-660s are tiny! I don't mind my columbia, but I can't wait to get rid of the Mercedes Benz POS engine!
I was thinking bout OTR does anybody know how the home time is with them? And this might be a dumb question but I'm currently 20 and don't turn 21 til October would it be too early to try and apply with millis just to have it all set up or should I wait til a couple months before I turn 21. Thanks
If you are concerned about hometime you don't want OTR, but here is the policy: You get 1 1/2 days for every 7 days you are out up to a max of 4 1/2 (or might be 4) and you can request hometime every 7 days (disclaimer!! If you are OTR and request hometime every 7 days you will not make any money! most OTR guys stay out 3 weeks or more.)
just curious from your other post... if you aren't driving yet and are not even 21 yet, how have you formed an opinion about Freightliners yet?
And for the record, I prefer Peterbilts, but I'll drive the wheels off a freightliner if it makes me money!!
I have a lot of family members that drive trucks and been in trucks every summer since like 5th grade. I'm not saying freightliners are bad trucks they have a lot of room and ride pretty good I just don't like the style I like peterbilts and kenworths but the casadia is a pretty nice truck
I passed thru Madison, WI. And spotted couple NEW regional T-660s parked next to some T700s and there were also about 4 T660 daycabs all waiting for Millis to pick them up! I heard they were trading the white regional freightshakers in for the coffin sleeper T660s.....but you know how things tend to change from one mouth to the next.... Guess we will just have to wait and see what happens!!
