This is getting to be just as comical as the claims that a US Marshal will come to the aid of a poor broken driver that is getting bent over and done dry at the side of the road by Barney.

    Talk about old wives tales.

You say "folks such as yourself" as though you don't think I've ever read Article 6:biggrin_25513:

There is a reason I bring up these questions. So much of the "common knowledge" in regards to the Constitution is based upon hearsay....listening to what others have said about what is contained in the Constitution, as well as through biased reporting on court decisions made by partisan hacks in black robes who find ways to interpret whatever they desire into the Constitution. If they cannot do so directly, they find an indirect route.

Sort of like playing "telephone"...where one person whispers something into the next person's ear, who then whispers it into the next person's ear, and so on, and so on, around the room. At each step, there is the potential for errors to be made, and by the time you reach the end of the circle the original message isn't even remotely recognizable.

For example: A judge may look to the Constitution to make a decision A. Another judge in another case expands upon decision A to rule on the case before him when he writes decision B. Another judge uses decision B to come up with decision C. Decision C is the basis for decision D. Each and every judge is guilty of following "precedent" rather than the Constitution, and by the time you reach Decision E, F, and G, they may be polar opposite decisions than what SHOULD have been reached had the Constitution been consulted instead of relying upon the precedent set by those other cases.

The news reports and people listen, and eventually people are convinced they know the Constitution despite the fact that they have never bothered to read the document for themselves.

Hell, even our current President doesn't seem to get the fact that the 1st Amendment clearly states that "Congress shall make no law...abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;" It does not say that people have the right to free speech or press, but rather that congress shall make no law abridging those freedoms. I find it disturbing that our president and his allies in the media have a problem with the 1st amendment protecting "corporate" political speech....especially when they will be the first ones (and the loudest) to defend the 1st amendment's freedom of "the press" guarantee to corporate news outlets.

It is written in plain language, easy for anyone to understand....if only ,pre people would bother to pick up a copy and read it for themselves.
