What happens when it locks up or freezes?

I did that for my current run from ID to MO and it said to buy all my fuel in St Joseph MO. Not sure I really agree with that since the fuel price is 3.229 and MO fuel tax is .17 per gallon.

I'm not sure why IFTA seems more difficult for people than it really.

Not directed at rollin coal, more of just an open rant:

Take the cash price, subtract the state's tax out of it. Compare those 'IFTA prices', and fuel accordingly. If you owe money at the end of the quarter, so be it. You saved it at the pump. Just because you "don't owe anything" doesn't mean you paid the least for your IFTA tax that quarter.

Greatest way for people to think of it is like this:

Every time you fuel, you're making a deposit into your IFTA account. At the end of the quarter, what you owe is due. Either you pre-paid at the pump, or you write a check. At the end of the quarter, you owe what you owe. The question is, did you spend the least on fuel that you could? People saying they fill up in every state they drive through, probably aren't.

Just because they're 'pre-paying' their IFTA doesn't mean they're not overpaying for the diesel.

If Indiana is $4.00/g and Illinois is $4.00/g, would you seriously even consider putting 25 gallons in Indiana just to pay for the gallons you'll burn there?

If your answer is yes, please reevaluate what you're doing out here.

One way to solve that. Make him file the next IFTA. Or possibly a reduction in sugar until he complies could also work. :laughing6:

When it comes to fuel price the only reason you need to worry about the tax is so that you can subtract it from the price you pay to see what the Before Tax Price is. This is the important number.

If I could save an actual $.20/gal but have to write a $1,000 check every quarter I would do that.

My goal in the next three weeks is to write an IFTA spreadsheet with report form.

Need to figure out how to "hack" or download the ifta website for their table.

May just consider joining. It's not as simple as pasting to a CSV comma file.

Why are you giving me a hard time. I am just relaying what has worked on me. ;)
Now we all know who the mean one is. I'm a teddy bear. My photo is mainly used as a warning for my daughters boyfriends.

BTW, pray for me. My 21-year old son from CA (with GF), 19-YO daughter from UT(with NEW BF) arrive at midnight tonight. Then we head this weekend to lake for the week and meet up with my other son and daughter (17 and 21) and my parents plus various other 20 something leaches.
