They're reasonably reliable if you do real preventative maintenance - and that means more than just oil changes. I think Prime's maintenance department falls down in that respect. If I were to buy a TriPac, I'd want the version that worked off of the main engines cooling system. They handled high temperatures better, but require the driver to deal with coolant leaks pronto. Never had a Rigmaster, but they don't age gracefully by all accounts.
Thank you guys for all the information... I'm filing out the app to go to Prime... Do you get to take your truck home? Do they do slip seats?
Hey open road dreamer how is flat bed driving that's wat I want to do. Or would you do refer instead.. I like flat bed cause I heard u have to labor with it.. and would like to do that.. thanks for the answers be safe out there
If you like work, Flatbed is the way to go. Flatbed instructors/trainers are hard to come by, if you cant get one, then go reefer first. When you get ready to upgrade, then let the head of flatbed division know you want to switch over.
