I was told by my old DBL that the APU units weigh the truck down too much and that's why they won't do it. Stlwaco - be sure to mention how unrested drivers is a safety issue.

Ugh, I've been seriously irritated all day after reading this non-idling BS. Even more so since my truck has decided to make the low air pressure beep constantly when I turn the key off. If I have the key on, it'll beep when the air pressure is actually low. So it's either idle, or go ####### insane.

Kind of worked out well. Had a drop and hook with a window of 0400-0600 that I just delivered 3 miles away from where I'm parked. Got there at 0345 and had absolutely no traffic on the 405. My 10 hour break won't be done until 0800 which should be about time that the morning rush hour on the 405 starts to die off.

Still kind of sucked though, time to try to get some sleep now...

The APU adds about 2000 pounds or so. And a lot of states allow you to be over weight that amount if you have an APU.

    Poor excuse....

yea, you get an exception for weight with an APU, has nothing to do with the state, it is a fed law.

All the SNI trucks that have the cooling system have a certificate in the book that gives us a 300 pound exemption for our weight. If we are over 80K we just show them that card as long as we aren't over 300 pounds.

I get to do annual recertification training tomorrow at the French Camp OC. Hard to believe its already been a year. Anyone know what all is involved in this? I'm assuming its just a basic pretrip, driving, and post trip test. I better refresh my brain by doing some double clutching on the way over there when I'm done getting loaded here.

After that I'm headed to Corinne Utah.

After about 2.5 hours of waiting I'm finally in a dock. I have just over 2 hours left on my 14 and I'm 30 miles from the French Camp OC so these ####### better get a move on. It seems its taking them about 5 minutes to get each pallet in on the other trucks (with a forklift) and I'm getting 25...

Um, I would rather double clutch than to take the chance that the OSR will let that slide. I know I floated a couple gears while on the road and the OSR definitely looked over at my feet.
