How freaking annoying!!! They shouldn't be allowed to WAKE up drivers, IMHO. Sheesh!!

I would have told them that for the simple fact they woke me up they were going to have to go get a search warrant.

    This is ridiculous!!!!!

I would have had them come to the passenger side of the truck. Then advised them I was on my break until the time and returned to the bunk.

This is the third time I have seen evidence of the DOT entering onto Flying J property and doing this. Seems to me the J is not the place to stay.

Question: If you're on your 10hr break, don't you have to show "On Duty" time while they do the inspection? Once they're finished, don't you then have to compensate on the back end for the time they used during your break? What happens when you get pulled in to look at your logbook and you have that chunk of time used for the inspection that you now have to explain? What a waste.

Hind site is 20/20.............but I guess if it ever happens again in the future, the thing to do would be not leave the sleeper to answer the drivers side window. Or is there a law against that too now?

The fact the this happened in Illinoiz is NO surprise to me whatsoever. I hate that state with a passion.

Im not a trucker but none the less can see what your saying. Was his life in danger??? I don't think so. He was just trying to get his 10 hours of sleep in before starting his day.

Didn't think they could be allowed to come on a private property.

They probably can't, but if the J invited them its a different story.
