Is there anyway to fool the zf freedomline 12 speed automatic transmission's tcm abs perameters? I removed an ISX engine and tranny from a 2001 Peterbilt with abs and installed it into a 1982 Eagle bus with no abs. I didn't know at the time, the transmission was tied to the abs, if so, I would not have used it. Thanks in advance!!! -- BILL
I'm just taking a stab in the dark. Aren't there any sensors that can be bypassed, fooling the transmission into thinking the ABS is still present.
Hey Worthken, Thanks for the reply. This has already been tried. I'm trying to see if abs can be added to the bus at a reasonable cost. I have also been told to use a signal generator immitate the wheel sensor. This is way over my head. -- Bill
If there is, you will have to find someone with a laptop and ZF software to see if the ABS can be programmed out. There won't be any secret wires or hidden switches.
Actually yes there is you have to go to the connector on the voltage doubler that is where the system gets the power for the abs function then you have to make a connection to the 2 pins
Hi Bill, Not sure if you got the ABS issue figured out? Technical help for the freedomline is now handled by ZF themselves. not Meritor. ZF # 800-321-0784 I spoke to jamie at the above # and he knows his stuff when it comes to the freedomline. I hope this helps you. Jonathan also I have a service manual for the freedomline in PDF format if you want it..
