I hear ya Bumpy, Im trying to take over payments on my dads silverado too, i'll be giving up my car. Funny, how when something like that happens you want to hold onto everything that person had.

It might be weird or sad, but I now use my dads lunchbox, i drive his truck, and i wear his work boots. Certain things i just cant let go of.

It's not weird or sad;but natural. Hold onto those things as they are part of him. I lost my Mom 15 years ago-I still have her voice on a cassette tape in a very safe place-and listen to it regularly..After all these years. Some may think it's easier to lose a parent later in life -I was 38- it's not.. Still...

Being a father of four kids..It would probably kill me if they were taken out of this game called life before me..And one day they will have to deal with their mother's and my passing..It's nothing new as it's been this way since the 1st generation.

Easy? No. Part of life. Unfortunately yes. Enjoy today.Take nothing for granted. And let people you care about know it. Nothing is guaranteed. But if someone you cared about is gone-really there are not if they are in your memory, such as your dad.

I saw an Autocar today on the Florida turnpike. That thing looked brand new! It had a stretched frame and i was wondering if it was you, but you have a big sleeper right?

I agree 100%. Everytime I drive his truck, it smells like him. I wear his boots and it keeps me going through my work day. He was 58 and worked doubles almost every week at GP for 30+ years. He did it for my brother and I. To make sure when we needed something, he had the money in the bank for it.

My work ethic is from my dad's, he's had such a huge impact in my life.
