I am with them now. I haven't really had many problems with them so far. I am new to flatbedding and they "trained" me. I haven't made a ton of money with them but I think that is mainly due to me not knowing their system really good and I am being really picky with the loads. I wish the rates were a bit higher, but low rates are everywhere.

Beethoven I find the that if I stay from I-35 over to I-77 freight has been fairly consistent. I try not to chase loads out of the strike zone if you will unless it pays really well especially if it means I'll have a huge deadhead ( 400-500) miles. This has been working for me. I just pulled a load that paid 2.70 a mile to the truck fortunately I didn't have a big dh(110) miles and it delivered within that radius I mentioned so I didn't have any problems getting a decent reload. All of my loads aren't like that of course but for that one I would have easily dh 250 miles no problem.

I Have been looking into CRST I have received the o/o packet and looking through it I have found that there is a total of $450.00 a week in fees they will deducting. I find that extremely heavy. Does everyone pay this amount and how can you guys make it work.

so i just got off the phone with Norma Jean in recruiting. as of 'a couple weeks ago' everything got switched over to elogs, and in order to run elogs you need to have an ecm(electronic control module) for which the elog plugs in to. unfortunately my 92 3406b mechanical does not qualify and therefore i am SOL. yup.

any suggestions folks? that is, aside from putting an electronic motor in...

midnightrunner, I have heard nothing about elogs here. I think they must be talking about their company trucks. I talk regularly with a friend of mine who is a lease purchase driver and he has said nothing about them either. I am an o/o with them and they have said nothing to us about them. Talk to some other guys out there and see what they say. But from my perspective still paper logs.

The way i understand it is that for all the new recruits theyre bringing in, Malone is doing elogs. If you were lucky enough to get in before they made the switch, well i guess you get to hang out to your paper logs for the time being.
