He got me, I've been rained out of the fields today. I needed some rest anyway. 18 hr days are killing me I don't understand why EmersonSC thinks it will have the truck down for weeks to do this either
Shop rate time, they need to make it sound like its a lot of work to remove and install an ECM to justify the charge.
Is your motor the SDP Cat. I have 2 SDP Cats that used to Regen. PDI tuned them. They are awesome now.
I would never put on a transmission cooler to coolant, get an aircore and plumb it in a lot less chance of a problem cooling it. You have to look at the clutch, the radiator, the drivelines and the transmission, There is a reason no dealer will uprate a unit without everything being up to spec, you can get a lot of people telling you that they did it, and had no problems, If you are stuck in butt nowhere and have a problem, you will pay thru the nose. You are making money with it, at it's present rating, save it and buy a newer unit as you want it spec'd out. I worked at a dealership and saw the consequences of people uprating, when the pieces did not add up, and it is not cheap. Just a thought!
is there any shops in el paso,tx that do uprates or turbo work? I have a driver there who needs some power put to the ground,i know you guys said there was a good shop in Louisiana. he will be heading to grand forks,nd from tx
I noticed that something was said about the down time, but no one said anything about the cost. Is $2100 close to the going rate for putting a tune into an ecm?
