I've seen that too. along with macks with the integral sleepers and petes with stand up 60" sleepers. I don't think the log boys worry much about weight do they? it sure looks funny though.
Around here, I don't think they worry too much about anything... Weight, safety, speed, driving skills, CDL... they scare the hell outta me! If I see one coming the other way, I almost want to hit the ditch and drive along the tree line. Yep, they're that bad.
sounds like they are the same all over.My uncle owns a logging co and he has 5 trucks. his daughter owns one also. He driver has layed that truck over twice last year. I can't believe she still hasn't fired him.
I too am in a prominent logging area and have seen numerous road-tractors(sleepers) hauling and have wondered how they are doing with all the added weight.
MM would have to answer this for an absolute but I am sure he is refering to wood chips. Hauling bulk Potato chips would be intersting though. Never have to stop at the 7-11.
we're gona run a convoy. I've got the bulk tater chips and we're gona hook up with a tanker full of Dr. Pepper.
