I can only directly compare two tank companies. Pay and benefits wise Trimac wins hands down. 80k, is the average and I should have little problems making that happen. Another thing, we do have split pay for loaded or empty but if you go out and back they pay it 75% loaded. Also we have a minimum weekly salary which is pretty easy to go over but even with the minimum you would make over 75000 without bonuses. I'm happy I switched, the money is there.

Questliner pays 40 loaded or empty. We haven't had a raise in at least six years. I take that back, they instituted a bonus program. I'd explain it but it is rather convoluted and broken into so many sub-parts. The formula has also changed a few times on it.
That being said the company works for me for the most part as I am able to get home every day. Earnings are usually right around 60k. -
From what we've learned, trimac stays #1 as far as Pay.
Waiting to see if another driver from another company will pop up with more $$$$pay rate -

Just visited with a union vac truck driver in a refinery. He was making $39 an hour(CDL holder) and overtime after 40... Yes, so when on overtime he's making almost a buck a freaken minute... AND he had two helpers the did all the hoses and they were at only $28 per hour.
Just how one gets a job like this I have no idea... Probably have to know someone already in there.
The only down side is, you needed to be on call almost ALL the time... it rained on Sunday, you had to go in to work... no choice in the matter. But the pay, WOW!already gone Thanks this. -
Not liquid (yet), but dry bulk tanker company A&R Transport has a terminal in ATL. I'm outa the Decatur, AL terminal. We are a top 10% pay carrier in dry bulk, and just got another raise in load/unload pay starting 7/1.
D'nice and Skydivedavec Thank this.
