I know this thread is old but what kind of credit and down payment are they looking for to get into a truck?

Most trucks are no money down (for leasing). When you fill out the application online at Schneider Finance you have check a box to give them permission to check your credit history. Apparently it's not mandatory to reveal your credit to them, although it does state "your options are limited" if you elect to not give them permission to run your credit.

They have made it pretty clear in everything I've heard that bad credit history is not a dis-qualifier and they're willing to work with it. Probably would get better information from them directly about this.

So putting money down should seriously drop these payments from up around 1k to something more reasonable

At least one exception to the "no money down" is if you lease one of the "premium" trucks ie KW or Peterbilt. IIRC those require a 5k down payment. Also some upgrades on a truck may not be rolled into the lease. In my instance it was an upgrade from the green battery powered apu to a diesel ThermoKing Tripac. The difference in price betweenthose two systems was $1800 so I paid for it to be installed, which I think is a fantastic deal btw. I imagine there are other upgrades you may have to pay upfront for. Anyways hope that helps.

    Where's your comp/collision insurance?
And all your different types of cargo insurance?

That's everything she gave me. It's possible I missed something but she said this is what I'm responsible for
