Exactly. Here's a better solution to those who want dispatch messages but none of the others: use the Prime App. Turn the QC off and use the app to receive messages only sent by dispatch. If you go to the app settings, there is an option to receive ALL messages from Prime. Simply uncheck that box to receive dispatch messages only.
Keep in mind that keeps you from responding to Road Assist, and will block the system messages such as reefer alarms. Since they went to all satellite communication with the reefer units, you won't know if the thing has shut down in transit. GFL. I imagine if you screw-up and loose a reefer load due to tampering with the QUALCOMM you'll be facing termination.
I believe you can have all important msg's sent to you phone, worked for me and it got rid of the annoying QC tones. Besides if it is a reefer alarm I normally received a phone call also from FM.
Tampering is pretty harsh, there are volume buttons on the front of the qualcomm. I didn't think about that though, if you guys get reefer alarms or other important messages via qualcomm while you're trying to sleep, you might want to leave it up if they don't go to your phone as well... Personally, I've never gotten anything relevant after hours, but I don't yank a reefer either.
Yeah? You guys are company employees and have to toe the line as a condition of employment. My contract as an IC uses that specific term. Its also listed as a reason that contract can be unilaterally voided. GFL.
Gotta say I sure appreciated being notified about I-35 being shut down today. Sure saved me a lot of time
