Yeah but your dropping cases right in front of you on a pallet. You must be a selector. No doubt its a hard working job too. For a driver 700-1000 cases, then you touch it twice which is times 2 or even 3 times moving stuff out the way. Then you got to 2 wheel it in sometimes the back door is right there and sometimes you got to walk it half a block. Then you got to deal with stairs up or down. Sysco delivers to small businesses which a lot of these places weren't meant for 100 case deliveries from a big truck cause they were built in the 50's. I delivered to a old town which all the kitchens were down stairs 10 stops all stairs. Sysco had to do the samething cause they had the same stops when I worked at US Foods. Plus if you deliver to downtown metro city a lot of restaurants are old and you'll be doing parking garages backing off the street. Had to take two elevators just make a delivery 60 cases took me an 2 hours and crap load of walking. Of course they expect you to only take 30 min lol.

yea I'm a selector but can do anyjob on the warehouse. Was just giving you hard time and understand what you mean. They have sent me out with few drivers while back. Actually thinking about tryin to switch over to driving less $$ but better sch. Totally understand about having to touch cases multiple times some guys I work with wil stack stop 11 ontop of 3 and I don't mean like few cases lol. I try my best to keep stops together but sometimes it's impossible n will even move some cases around from time to time o make sure lower stop goes ontop of the higher stops

Never thought you were giving me a hard time. I don't take anything serious lol. Selector gots to be a pain, I know why they wouldn't sort our pallets cause they up'd their times to finish and make cuts so they wouldn't get in trouble. Plus mngmt said it saved money not to sort instead let the driver do it go figure. Lol. Guys I talked to that came out of the warehouse liked being a driver better. Plus you know the cases, which means you'd probably be pretty quick. Makes a huge difference.

As a shuttle driver I would say it's likely a good job. At US Foods shuttle driver is the most chill. But hard to get as a bottom guy. Sysco I believe you can hire right in. But usually shuttle drivers get the least hours. A lot of shuttle drivers usually get only 40hrs a week.

Working nights 40 hours isn't bad. You are able to have somewhat of a life. Its when you work 12+ you cant

could be they are trying to cut hours back so hiring more ppl or some of the guys went to back to running routes. I know my Sysco when the new incentive pay came out the shuttle drivers went to straight hourly. No chance to make incentive like they could before
