They were all running at the same time back in the day. I haven't been out there since 2007 but they were all open then.

Anybody remember the Stockyards 76 on Ashland Ave. (I think) in Chicago? That was a happy place. Years ago, the best food was the Moasis Truck Stop on Hy.41 in Appleton Wis. Best hot beef & mashed potatoes on the boulevard. Now, it's a Mac Donald's. Lake Mills, Wis. had a decent truck stop on 94 east of Madison. I remember, before blended fuel, they had #1 and #2 pumps, and you blended it yourself. Ah, the good ol' days.

I wish I could locate a website that pictures of the closed or vacated truck stops around this country. It is a shame to see them left to rot or torn down from take overs by other larger chains or lost through bankruptcies. You tend to forget most of the places you have stopped, ate at or just fueled up in our careers on the highway. Someday I will find that website and just look at all the history gone away.
