I'm not totally shocked but maybe a bit suprised that after sitting in a cooler for 9 yrs my radio works fine. Bought the old girl back in 98 I think and only allowed 1 guy to open her up. After 2 new Francis sticks I am talking loud again. Sad thing is its often to myself as radio chatter seems very spotty these days

Chatter is pretty much non-existent now days. There are still some occasions so I still keep mine on.

    Why wouldn't it not work?

I've got radios here from the 60s that are sitting and every one of them works.

How about left out in a garage or barn for years where moisture and corrosion have done their dirty deeds. I have seen many in this condition, and I'll bet you have too........what were you thinking??? :)
