I drove for a small company that bad all broker loads.while waiting to get unloaded I'd call Judy she would give me the broker number they would give me all the load info and that's who I worked with if I had a pest for a broker I would send them to Judy.I don't have time or the energy to argue.

I get that being late happens due to traffic, wrecks, weather, blown tire, breakdown. I tell all my carriers to just let me know you're going to be late so I can deal with the shipper or receiver and keep them in the know. As long as everyone knows whats going on, its not a big deal.

Once you have the load, just tell them you are a pro and will get it there on time and will call on arrival.

When they call before then, refuse the call, block the number of you have too.

It depends, are you busy that day? Simply say "thaaaaaank you!" and hang up. If you aren't busy and want to have fun, mess around with them.

One broker I'll never forget argued with me why I want my rate, and kept telling me he knows what the lanes are paying. According to him, he follows load board trends, or some crap. What he doesn't understand is I have the price, and no load board can dictate what my price is, because that #### load board doesn't dictate what it costs me to run a load, and what I want to make. Anyway this guy went as far as yelling once the "market changes" he'll make sure my trucks are running at .50 a mile. It was hilarious. Why did he do this? It was 2014 produce Florida/GA market, and he wanted me to run my truck to Michigan for $1500 with 2 drops, while all my trucks were moving bubba burgers to maryland for $3800 (20k frozen, next day delivery 600 miles). That's why he got mad. I gave him a truck for $1800 after it felt like it was pulling his teeth, but that truck never showed, and then I told him we never booked a load. Was I wrong? Egh, but I don't want a load from a guy like that no matter what it paid.

As far as check calls, I don't mind them, I actually like to keep brokers updated, or direct shippers, or if I had a dispatcher, him updated too.

I might ask you the same question.why bother a driver while he's enroute with the load.it's dangerous to talk and drive even with hands free.you as a broker should let drivers do there thing and dont bother them every hr.one time after getting loaded should be suffice don't you think?
