Just got back and I see you have it worked out. What I meant was if you go to the box (search) on the top right of your screen and search the answers are there. Not search in your gear box.
Luwi: Is it possible you bump it in neutral after preselecting range change at the wrong speed some times. Is it RPM related? The high low air piston is on the right rear of the trans and maybe dry. I have used oil and white lube. Someone else said Eaton silicone grease? Just some thoughts but I have never heard a problem like that ( air or mechanical) lasting that long without failing. Surly air system related I would thank.

    Luwi67 Thanks this.

I'd tell it to either stop that or I was going to put it out of the truck. That kind of behavior is just not acceptable while we're driving. Ridiculous.

DOUBLE clutch after you pre-select your high ranger, then double clutch. I did this and had no problem. If you don't double clutch, it will grind. Not grinding is a good thing....

I was going to ask, are you using the clutch when this is happening?
