I don't have any experience driving Freightliner Cascadia so I would not be a good person to consult on that particular truck but it would be interesting to see what sort of results other people have achieved from that same kind of truck and what they had to do to achieve those results.
Evvy looks like you got your radio into the right hands it was worth the effort pretty sure you are going to be pleased. A little dissapointed with the tuneup Bells did and also him and galaxy, you would think that the radio would be adjusted at the factory so there wouldnt be a ssb carrier, guess Im naive and assume too much. Cant wait to hear it out here on the road, what is your cb handle, Im heading up to Allentown so I do sometimes make it up your way.
Thanks wolverine. My handle is Bad Credit. I'm mostly back and forth across I-90 from Findlay, OH to Rochester, NY with some back hauls taking me down to Watkins Glen, NY and down toward Columbus, OH.
Are they allowed to be sold as is, without conversion? And if so is the conversion really as simple as this?

It will function doing the simple conversion but realigning should be done for best performance and that takes sophisticated equipment
Getting that antenna as vertical as possible will help it some. I haven't checked how far I can talk on mine. I slip seat and don't put my radio in if there is already one mounted. So, I can say my radio set up talks better than any of the others I've driven. I can think of a couple conversations I've had at about 10-12 miles.
