Agreed. work is there, it's all dandy but intermodal has took a hit considerably. thank god for hazmat lol. that $100 extra does wonders. but overall, it's just a #### hole ... just cant believe in general the trucking industry is so FLAT and bland right now...... i mean......... dryvan and reefer/flatbed has gone to HELL. Do you believe... from Houston, TX to St Louis MO ....... $700!?!!!!!! was hearing the guys at the office (one of them does road dispatch and it's only down to 1 truck now.. he moved the rest to intermodal).. they couldnt get this guy out of houston, TX.. stuck for 3 days.. he said HELL WITH IT.. took that $700 load ............ I believe the road div in our company is no more LOL. I just cant believe what i am seeing overall... things are so bad. really bad.
Man those fools r screwing everyone over. I dont get why they doin all that. U guess trucking was once good
Yup like i just said i guess trucking overall is just not as good. To many people hauling cheap. Hmmm maybe company driver is where it ls at. But you know $$ wise we on 2 different worlds. You guys would go crazy if your making 2k a week take home. But lots would settle
there you go, you said it man! "lots would settle" and rightfully so... i do just fine making anywhere around $2,000 but who wouldnt like to make more? but if i make around 2k.. i would be just as happy as making $2,500 + more. here's the issue with people ( and i do this to myself aswell sometimes).. i'f im making a consisent 2,500+ a week take home.. and i make a $1,800 week to $2,000 another week.. i get a little ANGRY but... not to the point where life is about to end. it's all about self control and understanding that.. some weeks will not be like other weeks...
I'm honestly surprised they even have 1 truck OTR!!!!! the truth is EVERYONE in trucking is hurting right now, this year is about survival.....
Around here a ltl from Edison,NJ to Philadelphia PA then to the Bronx is paying around 1300 and can be done in a day... That same load intermodal pays less than 900
Not true, there's local dry van in Chicago, but my buddy just left it to do containers ......I suppose like everything else, there's gonna be some companies that specialize in it.....
