Hey everyone, I've been lurking and reading everything here in the Prime forum for quite some time. I've finally decided to make the jump I've wanted to make for the past 10 years into the wild world of truck driving and Prime is the company I'm going with to get my CDL and be employed by. I'm trying to get into the orientation class that starts on July 11th and it may seem a little early to make travel plans but I like to be organized and have all of my ducks in a row as much as possible. I don't want to ride the big grey doggy so I'm planning on renting a car and driving from Georgia. My question is this, if I get into Springfield on the 9th to return my rental car (it saves me some money getting there early) will it be possible to get a room at the Prime Inn? I know I'll probably have to pay for that first night and I'm okay with that. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Awesome, thank you FlyingM. I don't really care where I stay as long as it's not in my rental car that first night!

I would check to see if there is a fee for a one way car rental. Most if not all companies charge you a hefty fee for a one way rental. I have looked into this before.

Does anyone have the number to the hotel? If not, what's the name of the Prime Inn? I can just get their number from my dear pal Mr. Google. Morpheus, if their is a fee for a one way rental do you know how to get around it? The only company I have checked with is enterprise because they have a rental facility relatively close to the Millennium building. I played with the pick up and drop off times and they charge extra for an after hours drop off. What time do people coming for orientation typically start showing up on Sunday? Again you guys, thanks for all the help.

Not sure how to get around it. Best bet is to call and inquire.
