Was it a 50' probably a chain run although who knows could have been a single 28' sometimes they will pack a single 28' trailer and send it out on a 3 day chain run.

We actually deliver bulk loads to that warehouse occasionally, as well as their stores. Sherwood Foods does the Produce out of that facility. They also do the meat and private label, but I believe that comes from their Maple Heights warehouse. We do the name brand products for them, we used to have the private label but we lost it 10 years ago or so.

And, the old timers at Acme recall their former private fleet. We took over when Fleming Foods went bankrupt in '03 or so, they had a warehouse in Massillon.

Yes, we have both dry van and reefer trailers. Most of ours are 53 footers, with the occasional 48 for "tight" places or shuttle runs.

Wasn't Fleming Tops or Finest what ever the heck they called them selves around here well they were Finest first and then Tops and then they pulled out of Cleveland and that was the end of them they pulled out of Cleveland 2003-2004 sold a few stores to Giant Eagle and the rest went under. I know Sherwood does a lot for Marc's. Sherwood hardly does any broad line anymore at all you hardly ever see them at any restaurants delivering I think they got out of that pretty much.

So how does it work Sherwood is kind of like Acme's private fleet now?

It had to be chain account, because I know our broad line network last time I checked doesn't extend into Nebraska we right now in the broad line division really do not go much further past the Mississippi River in the northern part of the country. South it's different were as far out as Houston and Dallas.

Either that or it was an Internal Transit run grabbing a load we have those too, I've done them running stuff from GFS warehouse to GFS warehouse, could have been GFS picking up product to take back to a warehouse.

Sherwood is a secondary supplier to Acme - they do meat, produce, and deli as well as their "private label" Food Club items. We do all of their name brand items in grocery, dairy, and frozen. We also do some of the private label dairy, I'm not sure how that works. Supervalu has a couple of their own private label brands, Essential Everyday is probably the most notable. I'm shocked that we haven't pursued Acme further to get that business, that would be a huge gain for us. We used to slot the Food Club line but lost it to Sherwood, most likely they do it considerably cheaper.

    Sherwood.

Bad memories. The whole vibe of that place oozes misery.

I also have a few comments about them, but I'll keep it to myself. :)
