All training trucks are double bunk, the first week youll have the trainer in the jump seat next to you. He will evaluate your driving skills as well as teaching you the flatbed securement. On the second week its the trainers discretion to run as a team. However very few of our loads run that far where you need 2 full clocks. Most times its 600 to 800 miles. So you could run one full clock and the trainer can knock out the rest of the trip. The trainers primary job is to teach you the securement, and to evaluate your driving skills.
I appreciate the honesty @Gunner75 . I do believe I'll just stick to what I know and maybe look for a company that won't send me out with someone. I did it once and that was enough. Thanks for all your info.
For the driver training or the trainer with a trainee? For the trainee, you get a check with your training pay at the end of that week. I believe it's for $750. Then training pay has recently been kicked up i til to $750 as well.
Straps are standard 5400lbs straps, we use 5/16 chains at 4700lbs. Securement standards are to secure for 100%of the weight
