I am extremely interested in joining Prime at the moment. Ive been doing some looking around this weekend. So does Prime offer its paid cdl training and employment steps to people whom live in Florida? Is there a map of their coverage area?
May depend on where, exactly, in Florida. Florida is a more difficult place to get folks back to for home time. Especially further south. Not so much in, but hard to get out at any decent kind of rate. It CAN be done, but difficult, nonetheless. If not worried about regular hometime, should be able to be accomplished. If......they will take that chance on you The further south you are, the more difficult that decision may be. All you can do is check it out with them, and see what they say. From what I can see, you do not have your CDL yet. You may well consider other options that may be available to you to get licensed on your own, such as community college. Would take out that 1-2yr obligation that a lot of these megas require for payment of their training. I would actually suggest that route, if possible. Going to try to summon @Chinatown here. He's not down so much on Prime, but he will not steer you wrong at all on any recomendations, if'n he's got them. And, he usually has a lot of them. Best source for info there, if I can think anybody. Florida is not impossible at all. Just need to have the right info, which I unfortunately cannot provide. Wish you luck on your endeavors.
They'll just email a bus ticket on a Greyhound to Springfield, MO. As long as you pass their prescreening, ofcourse.
I appreciate all your comments. Chinatown pm'd me with in 15 minutes of me posting this thread and offered me a few tokens. I am currently applying with one of his reccomendations now and expect to hear back on a preapproval with in the next 24 to 48hrs. I do have another question for the community. Why is it that a company wants 1099s to show proof of unemployment during gaps of employement if after the 3 yr mark? As i understood the application and the little i know of the law it isnt mandatory for my full 10 yr since i have never done and cmv work.
