I may be in the same boat as the OP.....does not the word "reimburse" denote the spending of money first? I think the OP, myself and others are looking for no out-of-pocket from the start. Thanks for any info.

The only company that trains I would suggest is Millis.

I was looking into millis, but the 3 weeks of schooling has no pay either, with Roehl they pay while going to school.

One of the best in Texas is FFE (Frozen Food Express) but I don't know how the pay works.

Are they paying you or are they advancing future pay? Trucking companies spend a lot of money on each student during classroom training; meals & lodging, instructors, and other overhead. Ask if the pay is just a pay advance. If so, you may get some small paychecks in the beginning until that money is paid back.

I have looked at Millis, FFE and National Carriers ( The Elite Fleet )....NCI will train Texas residents. I'm not real keen on reefers though. It's coming down to a choice at the end of this week.....I've put this off to long. I may go the "correct route" and pay for my schooling and go where I want.....( Maverick glass or McElroy ) to name a couple. We will see what Friday brings, that's my self imposed deadline for a decision.

Update with what you decided, I'd like to know. We're still deciding, but will make a decision after Feb of next year since he's pretty stable with a towide truck job for over 2 yrs now, just no going anywhere with it, and wants advancement

Millis does have $500 out of pocket up front. Also while you don't get paid for 3 weeks of school once in trainers truck you are going to get paid more with Millis than about any other company. 25 cents a mile for ALL dispatched miles is pretty #### good for a student.
