At the ones we have, the out of town linehaul drones beat those of us that work for a living to all the food...

...when they're not stealing our fuel, that is.

Well ladies and gentlemen, tomorrow I test for the removal of that ###### R restriction from my CDL class A. I don't always get nervous around women, but when I do, it's because they are holding a clipboard in the passenger seat, and my financial future at the stroke of their pen.

Everyone say a prayer. I can't afford another week of free school lol

    Good luck RedRover.

Here's what I've been up too. The load with the wood tarps was ugly I think, but the load with the steel came out nicely, still need to refine my method a bit on the ends for the steel. 2016-11-04_00.43.27.jpg 2016-11-04_00.40.04.jpg

Dude I got it. Holy ####. Someone cut me off while I was up shifting and I had to brake and lost my rpm, grinded around through #### near every year trying to find one and finally got it into a gear and acted like it never happened.

I can't believe it. I've double clutched for the last time!

    Congrats

Now begins the hunt for the elusive flatbed mentor. They are few in number.

Congrats!!!! I never worked for a mega but, learn everything you can and enjoy the ride as much as you can. The great thing about being a otr driver is you don't HAVE to answere your phone / babysitter until your In the right frame of mind to CONTROL the conversation.

Swift sends load offers over the Qualcomm. You have to respond on the Qualcomm. In a good week you never have to talk to anyone at the office.

That being said, it is a idea to make yourself accessible by phone. I listened to far too many Swift drivers whining about low pay and in the next breath telling why. Usually it was because of all the things they refused to do, like answer the phone, drive at night, or run if a snowflake touched the ground.

Hello all, if anyone has anymore questions I run team flatbed for Swift. I went to Corsicana, Texas CDL class and Lancaster, Texas orientation. I did not go with a flatbed specific mentor, and all we had to do was the securement class in Phoenix.

How long did you run vans out of school before switching to flatbed? How are the average miles for team vs solo? Do you run much outside of the triangle? How often to you come back through or passed Corsicana?

How steep was the learning curve after going van and then making the switch to skateboards? Do you find yourself doing more or less crazy ### backing now?

I am now in Phoenix for orientation. No idea what time the bus leaves the hotel this morning and I am late as hell. Will see here in a few hours if my roomie wakes up.
