When it comes to driving over your 11, is the fine the same whether you drive 5 minutes over or an hour? Also what kind of fine would this bring? I had to go over my 11 like 30 minutes because there was literally no where to park & I was on some Texas back roads. I know it's my fault... poor trip planning. But just curious?

Just out of curiosity, did anything happen as far as unexpected delays that may have landed you in this situation?

Not sure about the fine. I just know it's a violation. If you were empty and not under a dispatch, you could've used your daily 50 minutes off duty driving (Line 5).

Going through a bunch of small towns & speed changes from 60-55-40-34-30 kinda ruined my plans lol. Like I said thought it was poor trip planning on my part for sure.

I believe the fines come in 15min increments.

Also, if you get asked, tell him you used your 2hr safe haven rule. Shouldn't be a ticket.

IIRC, there is a distinction between a violation and an egregious violation. Like egregious would be a couple hours over, where you had absolutely no excuse to be that far over and were a serious danger. But I am too lazy to look up the regs as it was added not too long ago. Or I may be remembering it wrong and it was just a suggestion or part of some proposed rule-making that didn't actually make it through.
