Negative... I did it long enough to fully understand the IC board and SNI polluted IC program and system. I AM NOT a newby! Whether % pay or flat rate or however you want to term it, compensation breaks down to dollars per milage. The loaded rate will be the same from shipper to consignee regardless of distance an IC has to travel to get to the shipper. That distance impacts "estimated total revenue per mile," base rate and fuel surcharge remain the same.

Maybe I'm missing your point. An IC gets paid an amount per load. Why are you getting hung up on projected miles?

Didn't stay...I suppose you missed that part. Run your truck, I'll manage mine which is doing much better now. My methodologies legally work for my operation. BTW, there are many who are still ICs whom are miserable. I don't need to get the last word in, nor need to win... Therefore, my last comment on the topic. I do enjoy it. And I will run my truck as I see fit. If you're no longer here why you dumping your hate all over the place? If you don't like comments that don't agree with you why post? You love spreading hate and discontent until someone disagrees, then you claim someone is trying to run your truck for you.

Another option is to move on to more profitability. Why sit around chasing low rates in hopes that they'll maybe improve while under the delusion that you're running your business your way contracted on to SNI. Good load rates do pop up often, albeit, snatched for company trucks.

Who' s sitting around for low rates? I know some people don't want to hear this. Some of us are doing fine. I have good weeks and bad. But mostly good weeks.

Tuesday morning out, Saturday afternoon in, $1900 to the house.......no sweat. Frankly, I'm kinda chapped about the whole CMS thingy and the box folks have become increasingly unreasonable, but for right now, it ain't a bad gig....

No you can not. When you claim expenses such as fuel, truck payment, etc, you can't claim miles as well. That's double dipping.
Unless you get paid by the mile, everybody incurs deadhead miles. There's no way not to unless you reloaded and unloaded at the same two places every time. Who does that?

Choice works for some and not for others, it all depends on the persons situation and where they live. For me, it was no longer worth it. Again i moved back to Florida last year and its been harder to make the money I view as "worth it" for myself, factoring in the time i spent out VS time home. I didn't want to leave, with me it was sort of that i had to leave. Im not sure if ICA's have their selected drivers they don't mess with, when i say that, i mean cancelled loads, changed appointment times ect... but adding those issues with terrible rates and no sign of them going up soon if ever.. I couldn't do it anymore. There are people that have been here longer than me that have seen it dive south more than i did, but in my 2 years here it has gotten far worse in every way then when i first started. Im sure there are people still managing to do well, and im sure SFI still has a line wrapped around the building, twice.. but for me, i am very happy I don't have to deal with Schneider and all their BS any longer.
