Actually there hasn't been a decent truck built since around 2001. They have all turned into plastic POS. And the designers must be a bunch of 5 year olds with crayons!
Even the classic long nose Pete has those stupid looking chinese headlight assemblies!
And I see where the Freightshakers don't even have visors anymore!
We have both Volvos and Macks, I prefer the Mack, it is quieter and has the full instrument panel instead of that stupid screen, and more storage in the sleeper(we have low roofs). And you can reach things while driving. If something falls down in front of the dash board in a Volvo you have to take off your seatbelt to reach it!
Not to mention the electrical problems the Volvos have.

As a proud owner of a Volvo 780 this tread has upset me so much that I am having to turn on the massage function in the drivers seat. Then I am going to grab a root beer out of the fridge, fire up my Television and watch some football. Then I am going to seat down at the table with a friend and have some dinner (just heated up stuff from the microwave). Then she and I are going upstairs to the top bunk for a little personal time. After that, back to work getting 8.3 MPG.

If I was running team I would get a Volvo with a cummins in a second. Plenty of room, you each have your personal space, and the bottom bunk turns into a table. The ride is great and plenty of storage.
As a single driver it's too much. the truck rolls in the turn, with all that weight up top and the air ride. I prefer the closeness of the Pete cab, while riding I can reach everything in the cab and in the flat top it was solid in the turns. The raised roof leans a little, but after the 780, it's child's play. It just feels better as a solo operator in the Pete. The bunk is more than big enough for me and I'm not out of weeks, just a night once and a while.
I hit a road cone once with the 780 and cracked a $600 bumper fairing. The plastic fairings are expensive to replace and they have a way of breaking just for being there. A metal bumper saves a lot of ills. The fuel savings better be great to pay for the broken plastic.

Yeah, haters gotta hate Volvos. I drove Freightliners cascadia, Peter built 378, 379. and Volvo. I don't know about KWs. Never had chance to ride one yet. Even though, it depends on a lot of other aspects. I am talking about how it is maintained, what kind of parts used for specific purposes, how loads loaded, and what you're specifically looking for etc. Over all, if the unit is well maintained and right Volvos are pretty well built and appears parts are cheaper than Peterbuilts. I mean Freightliners less expensive and a lot of shops will work on. Volvo on the other hand comfortable, durable, and use less fuel if you know how to drive. The parts are little more than freightliners and less than peterbuilts. I mean if volvos have cummens engine or some other engines except volvo's they can be worked on almost any shop. So it is hard to say volvo is bad. Why hate Volvo? I don't know. Volvo means I run in Latin.

To say that people hate Volvo is like saying that people hate geese. A completely unwarranted statement.
Some will hate some will not hate. What's to hate? This thread must have been started by someone who hates Volvo and wanted to draw a clique of followers to start a hate thread in other words to be able to smell their own fart.

Best riding truck I ever drove was a Volvo....back in 2000! I'd take the ride and build quality of a Volvo over the Cascadia I currently drive any day of the week.
