Combining service with home time is also a huge plus because you're not stuck in a motel.

Keep at it. They'll start to see you as a regular customer, you'll establish a relationship and they'll take care of better than a drop in.

I've been with same dealer going on 8 years now ... spent a lot with them over the years and when I decided to buy a new truck, they custom specced and ordered it for me.

Can you unhook the on guard system since it is not a Schneider truck anymore. I have a truck through Schneider and I took it to Mercer and I unhooked it because of the thing picking up invisible objects and slamming the brakes on.

Really? That would be my ideal solution. I just wonder if it will negate my freightliner warrantee. I've heard they're very proud of this little toy. I'm going to check in on that. Thank you.

I can't speak from the o/o perspective. I was company when I did it. It was ok. As a local home every day my wages were pretty low but it was a pleasant job. Dedicated short haul intermodal guys made a lot more and were out like every other night. Jb offers so many options in intermodal it would be worth checking in to.
If you hang out around intermodal yards (esp bnsf) you will encounter dozens of companies running o/o as well as company drivers.

When I drove a day cab for Schneiser, that collision avoidance system would ALWAYS SLAM on the brakes AND Jake when I would go under the bridge stack on I - 17 .

    Turn truck off.
Push and hold in the two arrow buttons on the display.
    Start truck.
This will also deactivate your cruise.
    To use cruise.
    Start in the off position.
Click it on and off a couple times ( while driving) on off on off On.
It will keep working as long as you just use the brake to disengage cruise, if you use the button you'll have to do the on off thing again.
Every time you shut your truck off you'll also have to start over with the two arrow keys.
