Well if you were a construction laborer you won't have any issues that will hold you back. When I was there in orientation the had us doing a lot of math which you need for time management and trip planning. So it's not all physical they look at.
Sure, I physically picked up a lot of things and threw them on my shoulder.....but I don't know how much they weighed. 120-150lbs???? I'm trying to think what I have around my apartment that weighs that much. I have a weight bench and I just put 120lbs on it but its too #### wide on the barbell.....this is getting a tad frustrating. Where can I get a tarp to "test" myself???
Click here. Little tips on how to work smarter instead of harder. Tips and Tricks of flatbedding Whether you skateboard or whether you dont, you do want to have some sort of physical activity while you're truckin. Luck in battle.
I think you're over thinking it, it's really not hard. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you've never been down how to properly lift something without killing your back. Once you're shown how to do it, you'll be fine. I had the same worry when I went there. I was scared I want going to be able to do it. Once they showed the proper way, it wasn't anything to be worried about. Besides, you only have to demonstrate how to lift the tarps once. Once you get on your trainers truck and in the fleet running solo, you won't e cnn have to concern yourself. Most forklift drivers will lift your tarps for you just by asking.
Meeting with a recruiter from Maverick tomorrow. I'm gonna pick his brain and see the "differences" in the two companies. Any suggestions on questions to be asked???
Biggest difference is maverick is a 100% automatic fleet, and the pay mileage. Tmc pays on mileage or percentage with a mix of autos and manuals. Both are extremely picky, both have very good training programs.
