That's just because the ELD causes you to follow the HOS.

I guess anyone can if they think they are taking away their rights. The 60s and 70s, they really that great as driving a truck. I started in early 90s when the Freightliner condition was a big new thing. I wouldn't want to drive another flat top truck and I don't think I would like 60s or 70s truck. They did not care about the HOS in the 90s. I wouldn't want go back to being told "get the load their on time or you fired"

No satellite radio or GPS or MP3 or podcast. No cell phones, no disc brakes, no antilock brakes, no auto shift transmissions. No Prepass, no EZ-Pass.

I think everyone is remembering the good parts and forgetting the bad parts. Yes you could work the log book, if you did not you got fired.

That's nothing I want to go back to, and new drivers today should not have go thru it today. Make shippers and receivers pay for holding a truck up, not the driver. Make them change loading and unloading time so drivers can log it legal.

Oh your back have you been able to figure out how to explain it's encroachment yet?
Everyone else has tried but you, the one that made the statement in the first place.

I just want my flexibility back, losing a good paying load when I am well rested and have been off for 8 hours to make a run under 100 miles is not being a cowboy. Not all of us drive 500+ miles a day, a busy day for me is 300 miles, and it may take 14 hours just to do that.

    Oxbow and tinytim Thank this.
