5th Wheel RV in Truck Stops

I dont see how you would have any less of a right to park there. After all, you obviously cant park in a car spot. And if anyone does get offended, dont even worry because im sure theres at least a couple bobtails hogging a full size truck spots somewhere in that lot lol.

 

There's many truck stops that has designated RV parking and it's always full of bobtails

 

I literally do not mind. Go and have at the spot. You paid for it and it's all you'rn

You drove a big rig all these years, and are fortunate to have this activity.

The only issue I have ever had with RV's is when the driver turns out to be relatively newbie and cannot or will not hold her steady when being passed.

 

This driver parked his bobtail far enough back that someone could park in front of him


But when I was bobtail I took up a full spot, unless there was bobtail parking.

 

of course the RV can't hold it straight the aerodynamics of the semi will not allow it the air coming off a big truck is going to push it out first and then it's going to pull it back when you pass it if there's a crosswind involved it's 10 times worse when the semi slingshot around the RV it post semis passing RVs in the snow they get in the left lane they run real hard they pick up the snowpack which blind everybody behind them they don't leave enough room when they pass to let the snow fall down it the again semis that are bunching up 4 5 6 7 at a time going by an RV is a good way to kill that operator in that transport truck

 

I hear you.

I just pick out the newbie in particular. The great majority of them I have passed generally were able to hold em. I am aware of the aerodynamics exerted by a big rig. I also have driven the RVs as well. (Its not my favorite job, it's literally driving a house. A pain if you ask me...)

They get to swaying and I have to back off like instantly to take the pressure off them they don't always get straightened out again. Nor do I waste time passing. I just get it over with.

You are right, I cannot imagine the problems exerted against a RV when a herd of trucks governed below the speed limit of all things 1mph apart grind for 10 miles to get by.

 

about two out of a hundred know how to pass an RV the steering wheel holders that are being cranked out of these schools now don't have the training or the common sense to slow down and and drive the truck the right way

 

I am truly sorry to hear that makes me even less inclined to buy a RV.

I had a feeling things have gotten pretty bad with neglectful training given to truckers.. but that's really bad. Borders on dangerous if you ask me.

I tend to be careful passing RV's but Amish horse and buggy is reserved for my very best behavior with a semi.

 

Personally I don't want one either I don't need one where I live in the mountains here in North Idaho I

 

Yeah I see how the residents of Indiana I mostly in Middlebury treat the armish when they're on their buggies with the horses I will give them the right away every time I never getting that big of a hurry anyhow
