I noticed that 06driver used the pronoun we when referring to booting. I wonder if he is vigorously defending this characters ruthless behavior because he's got a similar side business of his own.

No one here is an attorney, and I just watch them on TV. If you think you have an action for damages or something illegal was done the solution is simple. Hire an attorney from Albany GA. I suspect very few lawyers would take the case, but since I am not one I do not know.

Regardless of the legality of parking there, $600 is theft and I would be inclined to retaliate.

What fantasy world gives you the right to be somewhere just because it is not walled off? This entitled mentality you try to manifest is laughable. It is a wonder more are not termiknated permanently for these transgressions.

Yep blaming others because you did not get the coddling you sought. May be indicative of why you just taught yourself a valuable lesson.

I use we because I work for a company that folks claim some fantasy of right to be There. We are constantly paying fines because of ordinances so we have to enforce the law. In addition we are besieged with repair bills caused by the damage did cause while on our property.

Forgive me if it gives me a realistic view of why you prevent folks from doing it.

Then as was stated, the easiest solution would be a gate. 2 posts and a cable are cheap. Boot my truck, I'll cut it off. Try to physically stop me and YOU are the aggressor assaulting me the instant you lay a hand upon me, and I have every right to defend myself (in other words, YOU'LL be the one charged with a crime). Like it or not, you wouldn't get a dime from me. In the absence of a gate, if it isn't posted, it isn't trespassing unless the person is asked AND THEN REFUSES to leave. If it is posted, I won't enter. If there is a gate, I won't enter. If it is NOT posted, and there is no gate, I might be inclined to park there...especially if I was directed there by my customer. If the property owner then asks me to leave, I will leave...provided I am physically able to leave. You can't ask a person to leave, physically restrain them, and then try to charge them with a crime for not leaving...which is essentially what you're advocating. You asked me to leave, and I'm going...just as soon as I am physically able to do so. If you put a boot on my truck to extort money from me, you have a choice: You remove it or I will...but either way, you won't see a dime from me. I'll be on my way just as soon as it is off.

For about the last 10 years I have owned a donut franchise, it has a large lot that I own next to it, I opened it up for trucks to park while eating, after 6months of paying an employee to pick up piss bottles and bags with #### in them I blocked the lot with boulders. guys pushed the out of the and parked anyways, I contracted a towing company and had the tow whoever was parked there. That's why these companies exist, because guy like you with all of your keyboard bravado, billy ###### attitude think because you drive a truck everybody owes you something. and yeah trespass on my land I'll boot it and have you arrested for trespassing

Maybe. And most will say what was the truck hurting.. its vacant land. Like the guy on the radio says.. And now for the rest of the story.

Years ago land beside mine was sold to Wal-Mart to build a new dc. The gc firm approached me about leasing a few acres of my land to use as a laydown yard. I got a few bucks and a few acres of open cattle field turned into a nice hard base out of the deal. Well after the dc opened and all the equipment got shipped back out trucks started parking there. At first i was happy to let them, i know first hand how parking can be very difficult to find, especially after sitting 5 hours in a dock.

Then the fines from county started showing up in my mail box from all the trash truckers were dumping. And because it included human waste i needed to show proof that is was cleaned up and disposed of by a properly licensed hazmat crew. More than ten thousand dollars later my goodwill towards random truckers was gone. That lot is now blocked off. If this land was in a more populated area i would have absolutely contracted with a towing company to boot trucks in order to recoup the money those drivers cost me.

There is no way for a land owner to know which truck is going to be respectful to your property and which truck is going to cost you thousands of dollars so all are no longer welcome. Don't use private property as your personal parking lot and you don't have to worry about being towed booted or ticketed.
