I have many friends in US who are from Rio too. Rio is in a terrible shape, like a civil war, not like when you left.

Brazil is very disgusting ! Not happy at all ! I am waiting in line to get h2b Visa to go back to US. I lived 6 here in Texas, CA and connecticut.

Back years ago when i left US in 2009 the freights was very slow. I owned my rig. Unfortunatelly the 2009 crisis broken me.

Still speak portuguese ? Here is the live coverage of Brazil freight lock out.

    God bless america.

    Ohhh! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Yeah.. I know Rio is AWFUL! I don't feel safe there... :biggrin_25513:
I have been driving since 2007 but never bought a truck with fear that would not be able to succeed...
Oh yeah... I will never forget Portuguese... came here old enough not to lose the accent... :biggrin_25523:

Even Brazilians are afraid of visit Rio. Sad situation. Unfortunately no sign that situation will improve in short time. People are fleeing from Rio to southern states. Socialism if devastating Brazil. Even job offers for engineers as me can't be find. Sad situation.

Hey... do you think that Brasil will be going back to military dictatorship?
BTW, CONGRATULATIONS to the Brazilian truckers who are very UNITED and ORGANIZED and STRONG in their movement.
I hope they don't end up like the last time in 2015...

Oh gosh... I am so sorry... You gotta get out of there...
I know another guy who was a trucker from Rio.. a tanker... . had his own truck but was leased and his boss would not pay him... Very sad.. he was married... would have to sell his truck and maybe his house... Came to America with some friends trying to start a carrier business here but didn't have enough money...

It's very unlikely that a military coup will happen. There will be presidential election in next october. Jair Bolsonaro - a former army captain - is the front runner showing up in the major election polls.
He is a kind of Trump, right wing. Next election may be a turn point in Brazil crisis.
But i expect no great progress for Brazil while massive education investment are neglected.
Just good for farming, cheap land to grow soy bean an export to china.

Yeah.. one of the big problems in Brasil is their education... And people there are easily manipulated... don't know how to fight for their rights...
