Day in the life of P & D driver? ODFL, US Foods, Sysco?

Working at OD you be looking at 10 hrs a day, deliveries and pick ups will vary by location but you will see around 7 to 10 deliveries and 4 o 5 pick ups along with a swap but you will only get a swap if you are at the yard between the hrs of 1700 to 1800, at least here in my barn. Other than that ODFL is a great company and treat its drivers right.

once i buy my own truck i feel like moving out to the fresno area im tired of la traffic and house pricing !

 

You know the saying, "they gave me an offer I couldn't refuse"? Well JB didn't offer me jack, but I kept an eye on open driving positions within the company since I started with them and one finally came up that I was really interested in. Made the transfer, returned my truck to Stockton, and moved my stuff to storage in South Gate.
Traffic is nuts out here but it's a good thing I'm not local lol. It'd be too expensive to rent in LA. Fresno has got to have some of the most affordable homes in California and they're quite decent too. I wish you luck on becoming an O/O

 

yeah im also looking at Visalia and areas near there fresno has a lot of reefer loads so theres always work! and yeah plan on grinding and get my truck by the end of next year hopefully well see

 

You're not sick of California overall? I can't wait to see my W-2 next year and find out how much the state took out. Nevada is right next door.
