This is why YOU be careful as heck in the city:

i did a lot of city driving before i switched to road/linehaul.

    1) Take your time.

    2) No rushing.

    3) LOOK, LOOK, LOOK; Turn your head, or you're dead.

SCREW your boss, SCREW the customer, SCREW the load. Take your time and be deliberate.

Bypass censorship much in the title?

I don't worry about the death part. It's going to be something I don't see coming that will finally do me in.

It is very tragic and sad but busy streets and bicyclist are not too good a combination. Simply because they are too vulnerable and there is nothing to change that. In other words, if you ride a bike on busy streets like that, you have to realize that you can get hurt or killed, no matter how careful you are. I like riding a bicycle myself but prefer to go to trail. Of course, I agree the truck driver was at fault here - why did he not see her?

A few years back I drove in London traffic, those bicyclist acted as if they owned the road, I was trying to make a right and one came up in the middle of the turn and stopped right in front of me, he dared me to move, I yelled at him I'm from Detroit and I've run people over before so get out of the way. He moved but crap bicyclist also need to take responsibility for themselves.

Ive had people do that. Stop and stay.

Fortunately the Law resolves that well enough. Ive got a famous Milk Delivery story in Baltimore that comes to mind.

If people don't want to move away from me? That's fine, I have all day. The problem with this Mr Dense is that Society around us do not have all day and will get this resolved one way or another.

The bicyclist was at fault. He should have slowed and been observant when approaching a cross street.

When I lived in Beijing some American guy on a bicycle stopped in front of a car that was driving in the bicycle lane; the Chinese guy in the car shot him twice with a taser and drove off while the American lay in the bicycle lane quivering and squirming.
