Cascadias with dd13 and dd15 mpg

I started thinking about saving some money and would like some numbers from either oo or company driver . I currently drive 2009 t660 with freshly rebuilt c16 pushing 600hp , I'm at 38k miles from engine drop off and doing around 6mpg now , in summer in was 6.5-6.75if not too heavy , now in winter I'm getting bit lower than 6 ( just installed webasto , hopefully it will be improved ) . I normally drive 67-70 most of the time with 13 speed loaded at 55-65k most of the time . Talked to several guys driving cascadias and they report 7.5 ...sometimes 8.5 ...I didn't go in details how fast and how heavy ...my mpg is hand calculated . I used to have 2005 Freightliner century 12.7 with 10 speed and that truck was doing around 7 most of the time . I know it all depends on rears , tranny , hp , driving style etc ...I currently pull step deck or flat bed , I will have Conestoga sometimes in February .

 

Also what problems if any
Talked to some oo and they state that those trucks if purchased new or low miles in right hands pretty much bulletproof ...I was always worried about dpf , egr etc but none of the guy got many issues with them

 

Everyone I’ve spoken with has averaged 7+ mpg. Many are getting 8+. I’ve talked to a few who’ve managed 9+ on a few light loads. Your mileage could vary based on your driving habits. But I think it’s safe to assume you’ll get at least 7.

I can tell you more at the end of January. That may or may not be of use to you, as it will be a new truck.

My current truck is a 2014 10 spd DD13 with 540k on it. I’m averaging 7.9 mpg today, grossing 61k in a few mountains. Speed is kinda slow. I’m in Cali, just trying to hold 60

 

Mine is 7.3 for life of truck. 571,000.

ISX15 / 10 SPD / 3.58 / 242 WB

8.1 on this current trip, 20K in the box.

I do A LOT of multi stop as well, and therefore a fair amount of in town driving.

Replaced DPF at about 500K. $2K.
Replaced turbo sensor, a fan clutch sensor, and entire aftertreatment harness. $3400

Truck runs like a raped ape ( knock on wood, my head ) Mostly west coast, lots of hills.

 

My 2012 Cascadia took a dump so I got another truck now and I haven't had time to monitor fuel mileage yet.

I had a lot of DPF and DEF problems out of that cascadia, I spent thousands on it. I don't haul heavy weight either. I think my heaviest load is like 22,000. I haven't purchased a scale ticket in almost a year. I would stay away from DEF and all the issues with it unless you really know the person your buying the truck from and how they took care of it...

 

You will buy an $8 to $10 THOUSAND dollar one box for it as well somewhere between 700 and 800 thousand miles.

It's inevitable.

I wouldn't even consider one without an APU.

The second truck I'm running with DD15 and 3.25's gets 8+ all day, even heavy. It's a '16. Mine is a '12.

 

Idle and speed. You’re never going to get 7. Unless you tie yourself to a Swift truck and let him drag you

 

I will probably wait couple months till my engine fully broken in and check it after ...I just can't drive 60-62 ..I know it hurts the mpg

 

My guy in the '16 cruises in the mid to upper 60's. I cruise in the low 60's
