In-cab switch for speed limiter?

Only governed in Quebec and Ontario, once outside of those provinces we can remove or chanfe it, i run bullydog hdgt and can adjust it legally once out of province... howevr i run driver rewad so i dont have to mess with ut

 

Mine go wide open with no switch and it says 105 KPH when plugged in to. LOL.

Can be done on any engine with nothing more than plugging in and setting parameters.

 

In the US that sort of thing would be prohibited by the 5th Amendment. Other countries do not place the same limits on government.

There are, but once a court says "not guilty", it's nearly impossible for the government to appeal and retry the case. If you're found "guilty", you can appeal...but not the other way around.

 

I see. Here, either side can appeal on the grounds that there was an error made during the trial (judge mistakenly allowed or disallowed evidence to be heard etc etc).

The government is only allowed to try the case once. If the government screws up at any level (cops, prosecutors, judges, etc...) and the accused benefits from that screw up, tough cookies. If the screw up harmed the accused, the accused can appeal.

 

There was a movie a few years back called double jeopardy.
It was purely fictional but the concept was very interesting.
It went like this.
A husband fakes his death and his wife is accused and convicted of his death.
The wife serves time for the crime and then gets out and discovers the husband is still alive.
Because of the double jeopardy rule she now Can kill her husband and the government can not convict her because she was already tried and convicted of his murder once already.

 

So the only cases that reach the US Appellate and Supreme Courts are cases that were lost by the accused?

 

If it's a criminal trial, yes. If it's a civil trial where the government is the defendant, then either side may appeal.
