The doorslammers think it's like wrapping a Christmas present. To them it looks all tight and pretty.

They don't understand what wind does at 60mph to a tarp.

I see so many flatbed drivers here in Texas just use 1 bungee in the corner then rely on the straps to hold it down. It’s ridiculous.

Lazy, or don’t know any better. But who are we to judge?

It's a pet peeve. Mr Flapping loose gets locked down good.

That's my other peeve. You can have God send the Angel Gabriel to sit on that deck holding everything down and mother nature will find a way to loosen yet another tarp corner.

I don't see anything wrong with this approach. I use it a lot, it works great. 2 birds 1 stone.

I think it's pure laziness. How many holes and rips does that strapping over your tarps get them?

I’ve seen a lot of new flatbeds with new gear being pulled by junkers in Chicago in the last week.

    I mean more than normal.

I gotta say, a well tarped load, rolling along looks sharp, professional, and clean.
Flapping tarps look trashy, and diminish the professional appearance of that load.
If we as drivers want that respect we all crave, isn't it in our own best interests to make #### sure our stuff is right and squared away?

Humblepie, Ruthless, JonJon78 and 3 others Thank this.
