axle lift switch

Yeah , but the thing is you guys are local . The ones I knew that were fined were expediters with Michigan and Ohio registrations .

 

If your control valve is outside the truck flip the switch for down and don't tell the man, whats he going to do, get in your truck and flip switches. You could be right about being local, but their not to easy on us either.

 

Yeah , they will get in the truck to inspect . Many do have a list they go by , even go in the sleeper to see if you have the required restraints . A couple of Mexican brothers got caught smuggling marijuana when a DOT inspector didn't see restraints and lifted the bunk to see if the restraints fell behind it . Their attorney said the search was done without a warrant . The judge said it wasn't a search . It was a properly conducted inspection.

 

WOW LA would have a field day with me! I have 2 controls in my cab, one is used right now for my train horns but the other is just there. They've been in there since I've owned the truck and pulled a 4 axle trailer.

They'd had a heartattack if I came down there with this trailer....LOL

 

MY question is were can I electrically connect the switch as of now im lacking a switch in my cab and i dont know what electrical component i can connect a switch to.

The first order of business is where is the axle located on the unit...truck or trailer. Then the next question is do you have the nessasary(sp) hardware on the axle(s) already. This means does the axle have the lift bags and valves already in place. If they are then the next question is the axle rigged up to be set by an adjustable air valve in the cab or just run whatever air pressure the nearest axle(s) have. The more info on the setup and what results you want will give you a better answer. There is a lot more to a lift axle than just a switch. For things to operate correctly and last they have to be set up right.

 

They have an electric over air switch that goes inline on the airbags on your lift axle, you can go to the dealer get an on off switch to match you switches in your cab and it looks factory for a few dollars more.

 

So is this trailer out of the question then too lol?
